Caluag may tsansa pa sa Rio Olympics

POSIBLE rin na makasama si Incheon Asian Games gold medalist Daniel Patrick Caluag matapos mabigyan ng bihirang pagkakataon na makatuntong sa kanyang ikalawang sunod na paglahok sa gaganapin na 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

Napag-alaman sa isang mataas na opisyal ng Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines o PhilCycling ang inaasahang mas mabilis na magiging daan ng California-based na BMX champion para makasali sa Rio Olympics.

“He (Caluag) needs only to finish all his races in the World Championships and prevent himself from crash,” sabi ng opisyal na tumangging magpakilala. “He was guaranteed with a free ride because of his being a London Olympian, was once No. 1 in the Asia ranking and most importantly was the Incheon Asian Games gold medalist.”

Gayunman, ang pagiging seeded ni Caluag ay kinakailangan pa rin nitong patunayan sa pamamagitan ng aktibong paglahok at pagsabak sa kinabibilangan nitong kategorya sa World Championships sa Mayo.
Ang 2016 UCI BMX World Championships na nasa ika-21 nitong edisyon ay nakatakda naman gawin sa Medellin, Colombia.

Kakaiba naman ang sitwasyon sa babaeng BMX rider na si Sienna Fines na mula rin sa California na kailangan pa na mapataas ang kanyang ranking sa women’s division at umasang makapasok sa kinakailangang bilang ng mga kalahok sa kanyang kategorya.
