Tatlong PH track athletes magsasanay sa Australia

TATLONG buwan na isasailalim sa matinding pagsasanay ang tatlong miyembro ng Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (Patafa) sa pagnanais nitong mag-qualify ng maraming atleta sa 2016 Summer Olympic Games sa Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Ipinaalam ni Patafa president Philip Ella Juico na aprubado na ang pagbiyahe ng tatlong atleta nito para magtungo sa Perth, Australia upang tatlong buwan na magsanay habang naghahanda na rin ang iba pa nitong atleta para sa mga qualifying events na isasagawa ngayong taon.

“We have three athletes and a coach leaving for Perth, Australia next week to start a three-month training. They are Melvin Guarte, Edgardo Alejan and Christopher Ulboc,” sabi ni Juico.

Si Guarte, na naging silver medalist sa 2015 Singapore Southeast Asian Games, ay sasanayin sa paborito nitong 800m at 1,500m run habang si Alejan ay tututukan ang kanyang espesyalisasyon sa 100m at 400m relay. Si Ulboc ay hahasain naman sa 3,000m steeplechase.
