NAG-DENY ang founder at organizer ng Miss Earth beauty pageant na si Lorraine Schuck sa napabalita sa Russian newscast na nabibili raw ang Miss Earth crown.
Nag-issue ng official statement ang Carousel Productions kung saan Vice-President si Lorraine (dati ring beauty queen) denying that the beauty pageant’s crown can be bought.
Ito ay matapos lumabas sa Missosology website ang isang article dated Nov. 8, “Lorraine Schuck caught selling Miss Earth title for $4 million.”
Narito ang complete report ng Missosology: “Russian journalists in guise of envoy from Russian oligarch revealed a video showing the owner of Carousel Production Lorraine Schuck negotiating the price of Miss Earth crown. The price – $ 4 million.
In an earlier interview, Lorraine defended Miss Earth saying that the pageant is under the scrutiny of international media and that the reputable accounting firm Earnst and Young is responsible for ensuring that there is no fraud in scoring the delegates.
“She also highlighted the fact that the pageant has a panel of international judges none of which is willing to compromise their reputation for some foul play.
“But when the Russian journalists in disguise with a hidden camera came back in what appears to be a residential office of Lorraine, the tone of conversation turned different.
The journalists offered a price but Lorraine declined which it appears to be that she insists that this year’s pageant is clean.
She, however, hinted that next year’s pageant could be fixed,” says the report.
Lorraine Schuck, Executive Vice President of Carousel Productions, Inc. (Founder and Organizer of MISS EARTH beauty pageant) strongly and categorically denies the contents of the news release by Missosology in YouTube reporting allegations in the Russian press that she agreed, to fix the results of MISS EARTH for a sum of money.”
“Ms. Schuck does not deny that the interview with said journalists took place in her office last year.
But it is very clear that her statements were not only taken out of context but were deliberately and maliciously twisted to make it appear that she had agreed, or even hinted, that the results of MISS EARTH could be fixed for the mentioned amount of US$4 million or any other amount.
“In fact, as can be heard in the audio of said interview, Ms. Schuck insisted on the integrity of MISS EARTH saying that not only does it choose judges of proven character and integrity but that the results of the voting are tabulated by the international firm of Ernst & Young.
“She stands by the record and reputation of MISS EARTH and the integrity of its selection process.
All the distinguished individuals who have participated as a Judge of MISS EARTH at one time or another and all the MISS EARTH National Organizers can attest to this,” sabi pa sa official statement.
