PNP tiniyak: APEC summit hindi mabubulabog ng terror threat

TINIYAK ng Philippine National Police (PNP) nitong Sabado na walang banta ng terorismo sa gaganaping Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Summit sa bansa sa darating na linggo.

Ginawa ng PNP ang paniniguro matapos ang malagim na terror attack na nangyari sa Paris, France, na ikinasawi ng mahigit 120 katao.

“So far there is no information, direct information that there’s a threat from terrorist groups,” ayon kay PNP Director for Operations Chief Supt. Jonathan Miano sa isang press conference nang isagawa ang full-scale simulation exercises para sa APEC summit.

“The only threat that we [expect] are the threats from the rallyists. They have already announced that they will be going to conduct rallies,” paliwanag pa ng opisyall.

Inaasahan na pupuntiryahin ng mga raliyista ang mga APEC venues at embahada ng Estados Unidos para doon isagawa ang kanilang mga kilos-protesta.

“So far that’s the only information we have. From other threat groups we have none,” ayon kay Miano.

Sa Lunes, magsisimulang magsidatingan ang mga delegado ng 21-state member ng APEC.  Ang summit ay dadaluhan ng 19 sa 21 state leaders gaya ni US President Barack Obama.  Una nang nagsabi na hindi makadadalo sa pagtitipon si Russian Presidente Vladimir Putin at Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
