“Yes, it has something to do with that,” ang sabi Gabrielle nang makausap ng members ng press sa presscon at contract signing niya with Warner Music Philippines kamakailan.

“It is a blessing kasi it’s not every day that you get to be the sister of KC and the daughter of Gabby. It’s not so much of a curse naman actually, curse kasi mahirap po lumabas du’n sa shadow nila.

“Yun nga ho ang gusto kong mangyari, na sana to step out of their shadows, na sana one day, I could be known as me, as si Garie lang, as Gabrielle. And not as a sister of or daughter of, although I know and I’ve accepted that it will always be there,” anang dalaga.

“Right now, I think I’ve grown to be a person, so I’m willing to take more risks. Si Garie very nene…not much more of a daredevil as I am now,” hirit pa nito.

“But yung mga comments, sometimes nga I tell my mom, ‘If you don’t read it, it won’t hurt you.’ Kunyari isa pa lang na may nakita akong negative, hindi ko na babasahin kasi I’m also a person.

“Pag may nababasa ako, I won’t deny the fact na masakit pag tinatawag kang…it has a lot to do…mas maganda, mas maganda ang boses, mas talented, mas maraming mas, mas…” biting sagot nito.

Siyempre, bukod sa kanya, mas nasasaktan daw ang ina niyang si Grace Ibuna sa mga sinasabi ng bashers, kaya ang lagi niyang sinasabi sa kanyang mommy, “Ma, okay lang, they don’t know me.

Alam naman nating wala tayong masamang ginagawa, just let them.” “I can’t please everyone, that’s just how it is. So, ako, I’ll keep on doing what I’m doing. If people appreciate me and love me, I’ll love them back; if not, I’ll respect them either way,” sey pa ni Gabrielle.

Ang isa pang track sa album na “Shadow Me Down” ay sinulat ni Gabrille, “It’s actually the first song that I’ve co-written and I’m very excited to share it with everyone.”
