THE clock stops ticking for John Lloyd Cruz whose character in Home Sweetie Home ay may pahiwatig nang tatanggalin given his long absence.

Sa pinakahuli kasing episode ng nasabing sitcom, nagko-contemplate na ang karakter ni Toni Gonzaga na hiwalayan si Romeo (played by JLC) who in the story went offshore to work.

Minsan nang kinlaro ng produksiyon ng HSH that should JLC decide to return to the show ay welcome pa rin ito. But of course, the character of Piolo Pascual had to be introduced during his absence, with the staff banking on the magical Toni-Piolo tandem.

Pero mukhang indefinite ang inaasahang pagbabalik ni JLC, or bumalik pa kaya siya lalo ngayong nabalitang nagsilang na si Ellen Adarna ng kanilang firstborn? More than an actor, JLC—if reports are true—should play daddy first.

Kung nakuha nga niyang isakripisyo ang kanyang career (and that includes not just his TV work but his commercial endorsements as well) all for the love of Ellen, ngayong ganap na siyang ama—a dream— come-true—ngayon pa ba naman siya gaganahang magtrabaho?

On the other hand, JLC—again if he already sires a child—should all the more be back on his feet. Bukod sa kailangan niyang magsipag to fulfill the needs of his mag-ina, having a baby should serve as an inspiration.

The HSH production’s decision though is no different from what is real. Sabi nga, no one is indispensable.

Nawala man nang walang kaabug-abog si JLC sa show, hindi naman ‘yon kinansela. Life went on, and it still goes on.

‘Yun nga lang, taliwas ang “no one is indispensable” adage sa kasabihang, “Hope springs eternal.” The HSH staff must have given up its hope that one day, Romeo will surprise them with his unannounced arrival mula sa kung saang bansa man siya nagtrabaho.

Eh, kung sa Kuwait ba ang ginawa sa kuwentong destinasyon ni Romeo, ‘di sana’y noon pa siya nakabalik, ‘no!
