Senate resolution inihain para parangalan si Noy sa pagkapanalo ng PH sa UN Tribunal
NAGHAIN ng resolusyon sa Senado para parangalan si dating pangulong Aquino at iba pang kinatawan ng bansa na nasa likod ng pagkapanalo ng Pilipinas sa inihaing arbitration case sa United Nations Tribunal laban sa China kaugnay ng South China Sea.
Pinuri rin ni incoming Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel sa kanyang Senate Resolution No. 16 sina dating Foreign Affairs secretary Albert Del Rosario, Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio, Supreme Court Associate Justice Francis H. Jardeleza at dating Solicitor General Florin Hilbay dahil sa kanilang malaking papel sa pagtulong na maipanalo ang kaso.
Nauna nang nagpalabas ng desisyon ang Permanent Court of Arbitration sa The Hague, The Netherlands, kung saan unanimous ang boto nito na nagsasabing walang basehan sa international law ang iginigiit ng China na “nine-dash line.”
“The landmark decision would not have been possible without the vision, foresight, diligence and courage of then President Aquino who made the critical decision to file the case and other patriotic Filipinos,” sabi ni Pimentel.
