Dingdong Dantes desidido na, di tatakbo sa 2016 polls

HINDI tatakbo ang aktor na si Dingdong Dantes sa 2016 elections at pinagtutunan niya ng pansin ang kanyang nalalapit na pagiging ama. Sa isang press conference sa Kamara Lunes ng umaga, sinabi ni Dingdong na “I’ve already categorically declared that I’m not running” sa kabila ng mga balita na ikinokonsidera niya bilang kandidato sa pagkasenador ng administrasyon. “Nakikita naman natin na there are more important issues that we are facing right now more than my reconsideration. Bukod sa trabaho dito sa NYC, I am a soon to be father… so that’s really one consideration,” ani Dantes o Jose Sixto Dantes III sa tunay na buhay.  Miyembro si Dingdong ng National Youth Commission. Sinabi ni Dantes na maraming paraan upang makatulong sa pag-unlad ng bansa maliban sa pagpasok sa pulitika. “I think all of us will have our shot in participating in nation-building and public service. We can do it in community level, barangay level and on a national scale perhaps. We have different opportunities and for me, Ito po yung pagkakataon ko to serve in NYC. That’s why I’m concentrating here.” Isinusulong ng NYC ang pagkakaroon ng partisipasyon ng mga kabataan sa disaster preparedness sa pamamagitan ng pag-amyenda sa Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Law (RA 10121). Upang mangyari ito ay inihain ni Zamboanga del Norte Rep. Seth Jalosjos ang House bill 5640 para mabigyan din ang NYC ng P100 milyong pondo para ipinapanukalang programa.
