A night of sablay. That’s what The Voice of the Philippines Season 2 is all about.
First sablay of the night ay ang pagrampa ni coach Sarah Geronimo nang kasama ang father niyang si Mang Delfin. When the coaches were called in, lahat rumampa nang solo except for Sarah who was accompanied by her father. Bakit? Gustong umepal?
While watching it, na-realize naming hindi perfect lahat ng production numbers. Maraming sablay, merong naiwan, merong umeksena, merong hindi makasabay.
We thought that in the final two ay maglalaban sina Leah Patricio of Team Lea and Jason Dy of Team Sarah but we were wrong. Sa huli ay naglaban sina Jason at Alisah Bonaobra.
Alisah sang a birit number “All By Myself” by sadly she failed to impress us.Walang kuwenta ang kanyang version, halatang kinapos pa siya sa hininga during the last few bars of the song.
Si Jason naman, hindi rin kagandahan ang kanyang version ng “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.”During the show, coach Sarah, while waiting for the final votes, said, “Napakahirap makahanap ng artist na hindi kinakailangang bumirit para lang ma-touch ang puso mo habang kumakanta siya.
That is Jason, that is special about Jason. He is the voice of today, he is a world-class talent, and his voice deserves to be heard all over the world.”
That said, we felt that Sarah simply forgot that she won because of her birit song in Search for a Star. On her Twitter account, Lea posted, “Trivia: March 1 was also the date that Sarah won Star for a Night.
Makes total sense that Jason would win on the same date.” In the beginning pa lang, we were rooting for Leah Patricio from Team Lea. Ang akala namin ay silang dalawa ni Jason ang maglalaban sa finale but we were utterly surprised when Alisah of Team Apl was named as the final contender against Jason.
Leah sang from the heart and the only thing that went against her siguro is her personality. Hindi kasi siya star material although she’s loaded with voice. Actually, she’s the best singer that the contest has produced, hindi si Jason, hindi si Alisah.
