NAGPASABI na si Sen. Miriam Santiago kina Heart Evangelista at Sen. Chiz Escudero na hindi siya makakapunta sa kasal ng dalawa niyang mga kaibigan sa susunod na taon.
Ayon sa kontrobersiyal na senadora, masyadong malayo ang venue ng wedding para sa kanyang kalusugan at naiintindihan naman daw ito nina Heart at Chiz.
“Di siguro ako makapunta. Sinabi ko na dahil ang kasal nila doon sa Balesin Island, nahirapan ako magbiyahe sa eroplano. And that’s why I have been in the country for nearly a year now.
I haven’t any gone on any trip because it’s bad for my health,” paliwanag ni Sen. Miriam nang makachika ng ilang reporters sa isang event.
Kung matatandaan, mismong ang senadora ang nag-announce sa madlang pipol na meron siyang Stage IV lung cancer, pero unti-unti nang bumubuti ang kanyang kundisyon.
Hanggang ngayon ay may iniinom daw na tablet version chemotherapy ang matapang na senadora na nagkakahalaga diumano ng P2,000 per piraso.
Nang hingan ng mensahe para sa pagpapakasal nina Heart at Chiz, “They have to be kind to each other,” anito. Natanong din si Sen. Santiago kung nakapagdesisyon na siya sa pagtakbong pangulo sa 2016, ang naging tugon nito, “Yes and no.
Yes, because it shows I have popular support. And no…because I am fully aware of the responsibilities that I will assume, and people seem to have very, very high expectations of me. It frightens even me.
“No person can meet all the expectations of these young people, especially those who came from school today whom I tried to reprimand, but who were faster than me in their repartee. But I’m going to think about it.
“First of all, I have to get rid of the last few vestiges of cancer. I’m now in remission as they say, the cancer is no longer in its original, strong state. It’s now in a very weak state. And I’m very stable now.
“But still, I have to have, I have to be in the best of health before I’m going to be president of the Philippines because there are so many things that need to be done simultaneously,” ang paliwanag pa ng senadora sa nasabing panayam.
