JUST saw the trailers of Vic Sotto’s “My Big Bossing” and Vice Ganda’s “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” na parehong kasali sa Metro Manila Film Festival 2014.
Of the two ay mas nakakatawa ang movie ni Vice, it’s very NOW and is BEREFT of corny jokes.
How degradingly cheap can you get? Watching the trailers, we realized something. Vic is cashing in on the popularity of Aling Maliit, si Ryzza Mae Dizon.
Kailangan niya ng major support to make his comic movie click. Also, sandamakmak na comedians ang nasa cast, giving Vic the ample opportunity to shine.
This is not so in Vice Ganda’s case. In any of his movies, siya lang ang major attraction, wala nang iba. Siya ang nagdadala ng movie. Siya ang pinakanakakatawa.
He doesn’t have to rely on REHASHED jokes, very contemporary ang kanyang approach, hindi PREHISTORIC. That said, we felt that Vice movie will rake in more money than that of Vic’s.
