Miss Philippines is still Miss World 2014.
In an unprecedented move, Miss World chairperson and owner Julia Morley announced that the reign of 2013 Miss World 2013, Megan Young of the Philippines, will be extended for another year. This year’s Miss World will push through pa rin sa Dec. 14 but the winner will sit as Miss World 2015 pa, si Megan pa rin ang may hawak ng korona hanggang Dec. 14, 2015. Never nangyari ito in any international beauty pageant from Miss Universe to Miss International and we’re still verifying the full report.
Ayon sa unang naglabas ng balita, ang website na Adobo Chronicles, the decision came because Morley said that Megan is “by far the most beautiful, talented, eloquent and popular among all title holders, and that the organization would like to keep her until Dec. 15, 2015.” Ayon naman sa GMA Network website, likely to keep her crown pa lang ang report nila but whatever happens, this is history in the making for the first ever Philippine holder of the crown.
Though we’re personally happy about the news specially the fact that Megan’s last show before she competed for Miss World was our Misibis Bay sa TV5, may katanungan kami sa Miss World organizers. Another set of crowns and prizes na naman ba ito or extension lang by name. Kapag may nanalo na bang Miss World 2014 sa December, ipuputong ni Megan ang korona niya or not dahil technically nga, Megan is still Miss World 2104. At kung totoo ito, another year na magtitiis na naman in the shadow si Mikael Daez.
