Jessica Sanchez bagong lucky charm ni Pacman
ISA marahil sa mga itinuturing na lucky charm ni Manny Pacquiao sa kanyang boxing career ay ang proud Pinay at American Idol Season 11 runner-up na si Jessica Sanchez.
Kaya naman sa ikalawang pagkakataon si Jessica uli ang napili ni Pacman para kumanta ng “Lupang Hinirang” sa rematch nila ni Timothy Bradley sa April 12 na gaganapin sa MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada.
In fairness, kahit na sa Amerika lumaki si Jessica ay perfect pa rin ang pagkakakanta niya ng Pambansang Awit ng Pilipinas.
Wala pa ring plano na baguhin ng singer ang tono ng “Lupang Hinirang” dahil, “I think I did a pretty good job last time. I received so many tweets and everybody wants to keep it (the same way).
“They want me to keep it traditional and nice and simple like what I did last time. I don’t wanna change. But I’m very excited, I love Manny and this is the second time I think I’m singing for the fight, ah no, third time, and I’m very excited to sing,” esplika ni Jessica sa press people na um-attend sa isang event ng Solaire Resort & Casino.
Si Jessica ang kumanta sa nakaraang laban nina Manny at Timothy noong June 2012 kung saan inawit niya ang National Anthem ng US, sumunod sa laban nina Manny at Brandon Rios noong November, 2013 sa Macau kung saan inawit niya ang National Anthem ng Amerika at Pilipinas.
