“The GAB should not issue license to play for those PBA players who were selected to play for the Philippine team but refused to join and play invoking flimsy reasons,” ani Barzaga.

“On account of their popularity and glamorous standing, there are some PBA players who conveniently forget service to our country like carrying the Philippine colors in the forthcoming FIBA championship in Spain scheduled in August this year.”

“They should be reminded that professional basketball is subject to regulation by the state and dissservice to the country would be a valid ground for the government not to issue a license to them to play in the PBA,” ani Barzaga.

“It is quite ironic that at present, they have forgotten their oath when they decided to be citizens of our Republic and refused to don the Philippine colors in FIBA.”
