Rhian Ramos at Sam Verzosa
NA-HURT at nainsulto ang Kapamilya actress na si Rhian Ramos sa akusasyong nandaya raw sila ni Sam Verzosa sa sinalihan nilang marathon sa Amerika.
Mariing pinabulaanan ni Rhian ang lumabas na fake news na nag-cheat sila ng kanyang boyfriend na kongresista New York City Marathon 2024 nitong nakaraang linggo.
Kumalat ang sinasabing pekeng balita matapos lumabas ang column ni Atty. Estrella “Star” Elamparo sa isang broadsheet noong November 9 na kumukuwestiyon sa pagtatapos nina Rhian at Sam sa naturang sports event.
“When I accessed the couple’s publicly available NYCM record, I saw that they had identically missing splits representing three-mile markers.

“According to New York Road Runners (NYRR) rules, having missing splits is a ground to disqualify a runner,” aniya.
Sa sumunod niyang column, sinabi ni Elamparo na hindi raw niya diretsahang inakusahan ng pandaraya ang celebrity couple.
“I further said that ‘if allegations are proven true,’ this may be a case of cheating. I then emphasized that, ordinarily, an investigation would be conducted by the race organizer.
“Finally, in my last sentence I said, ‘This column will be open to any response from Mr. Verzosa and Ms. Ramos.’ Verily, I did not state as a matter of fact that the couple had cheated but only raised the possibility based on publicly available information,” depensa ng kolumnista.
“I was insulted, na parang how can you jump to such a conclusion? But some people gawain yun,” pahayag ni Rhian sa panayam ng media hinggil sa isyu.
“Mali naman talaga. I stand against blatant lies, especially in the media,” dagdag ng aktres.
Patuloy pa niyang paliwanag, “Sam and I aren’t professional runners. In fact, the New York Marathon was my first 42k ever. It was crazy to do it, especially without a professional trainer.
“But given my schedule, I basically just relied on mental strength and making sure that I kept a fairly active lifestyle before actually flying. We didn’t do it to compete with anyone’s times.
“We just had to make sure we could finish it without passing out or getting injured, because above everything, we were doing it for charity.
“By completing each of our runs, Sam and I raised money for children with clefts to get proper treatment and essential operations.
“And even if we were pretty much limping to the finish line, it was this cause that kept us from quitting and made this experience one of the best things I’ve ever done,” esplika pa ng aktres.
Sa kabila nito, nagdesisyon siya na huwag nang sampahan ng kaso ang kolumnista na isa ring abogado. Pero suportado niya ang pagdedemanda ni Sam ng cyber libel laban kay Elamparo.
“I think kasi for me, in my own way I addressed it naman.I made sure to get a legitimate person from the actual marathon to verify.
“For me, I just did not feel like I needed to. At that point, it feels like an insignificant piece of fake news,” aniya pa.
Nauna rito, nagsampa nga si Sam ng cyber libel case laban kay Elamparo at sa iba pang vloggers na pumatol sa fake news tungkol sa kanila ni Rhian sa Manila Prosecutor’s Office nitong November 19.
Ayon kay SV na tatakbong mayor ng Maynila sa 2025 midterm elections, “Marami nasaktan. Kung ako lang, okay lang. Pero pati mahal ko sa buhay, dinamay niya si Rhian.
“Kailangan ko pagtangol. Ayaw niya na lang pansinin, pero nasaktan si Rhian.
“Ayoko na sanang patulan pero dapat may tumindig laban sa mga tao na nagpapakalat ng paninira at fake news online,” dagdag ni SV na patuloy lang sa pagtulong sa mga kababayan natin hindi lang sa Manila kundi sa buong Pilipinas.
