MUTED conversations of late have been about Nora Aunor’s sure selection as one of this year’s National Artist awardees.
Ilang tao na ang nagsabi sa amin na sure na sure na si Ate Guy bilang Pambansang Alagad ng Sining, the highest honor na puwedeng makuha ng isang TUNAY na alagad ng sining.
Should this be true, eh, there’s so much reason to celebrate. Tiyak na welcome news ito para sa nag-iisang Superstar and to her multitude of fans na until now ay inaasam na makamit ni Ate Guy ang nasabing honor.
Wala naman sigurong papalag if ever Ate Guy is finally bestowed the distinct honor. After all, she’s come FULL CIRCLE as an artist.
She’s defined what FINE ACTING is all about, recorded the biggest and best selling albums, hosted the longest-running musical TV show and brought TREMENDOUS honor in international film festivals. Kaya ba ni Ate Vi ‘yan?
That said, Nora changed the LANDSCAPE of Philippine movies and television. Tiyak na Ate Vi, the perennial SECOND FIDDLE to Ate Guy, is aghast to learn na mauuna pa talaga ang kumare niyang mabigyan ng National Artist award.
Vilma’s always a second-rate copycat naman, eh. When Nora did an indie film, she also filmed her first independent movie. Out of the blue ay naging available siya na mag-shoot ng movie when in the past she’s been unusually PICKY.
Now, luhod, Vilma, luhod. Talagang hindi mo kayang PANTAYAN o TALUNIN si Ate Guy sa anumang labanan. O, sore losers na Vilmanians, are you ready with your rants?
