Ariella, Janine hindi bet ang pagtanggal ng ‘age limit’ sa Miss Universe?

DAPAT may pamantayan pa rin pagdating sa “age restrictions” ang mga lalahok sa Miss Universe pageant.
‘Yan ang naging pahayag ng beauty queens na sina Ariella Arida at Janine Tugonon kahit sinabi nilang ginagalang nila ang naging desisyon na tanggalin ang age limit sa international competition.
Sa programang “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” aminado si Janine na siya ay nagulat nang nabalitaan ito.
“I’m gonna be honest, with age limit, when I first heard it, I was a little bit like, ‘Really? No age limit? Would it be fair?’” sey niya.
Paliwanag ni Janine, “‘Cause it feels different, especially [since] I’ve been in the modeling world as well, it feels different when you’re older than the rest or when you’re younger than the rest.”
“For me, I was like, I hope there would be some standards pa din in terms of the age but I’ll support either way,” ani pa ng Miss Universe 2012 1st runner-up.

Sumang-ayon sa kanya si Ariella at umaasa pa rin daw siya na magkakaroon pa rin ng “bracket” sa edad.
“As long as may limit pa rin kasi I’m just sharing my story kasi during our time, kung walang age limit Tito Boy, I wouldn’t push myself to join the pageant kasi I would think that’s my last year to join so parang napilitan din ako in a way to really reach that goal of mine,” kwento ni Ariella.
Gayunpaman, naiintindihan ng Miss Universe 2013 3rd runner-up na kailangan ding mag-“adapt” ng organisasyon sa mga pagbabago sa panahong ito.
“Parang everything going to technology and all that we have to adapt,” sambit ni Ariella.
Paliwanag niya pa, “And so, at one point or another, know the organization wants to be more inclusive, so parang dun talaga ‘yung path niya.”
Magugunita noong Setyembre ng nakaraang taon nang inanunsyo ng Miss Universe Organization (MUO) na inaalis na nila ang age restrictions sa mga nais sumali.
Nitong taon lamang, naging usap-usapan ang pagsali sa kompetisyon ng isang 69-year-old fashion designer mula Quezon City.
