In fairness, handpicked si Chie para sa isang espesyal na role sa inaabangan nang upcoming Star Cinema movie na “A Very Good Girl” na hinuhulaang magiging blockbuster hit na naman kapag ipinalabas na sa mga sinehan.
“Grabe yung takeaway. I only had a few shooting days pero ang dami kong natutunan. This is why I love what I do. Kasi hindi ibig sabihin today magaling ako, pinanganak na akong magaling.
“And I’m surrounded by people that they really love what they’re doing. And yun yung mas nakaka-inspire to do well also,” pahayag ni Chie sa naganap na “Keep Shining Kapamilya” mediacon kung saan finally ay pumirma na rin siya ng network contract sa ABS-CBN.
Patuloy pang chika ng dalaga, “Kasi nu’ng taping namin, Ms. Dolly is from theater, kami ni Kath mainstream kami. Dun kami sa mainstream division of acting, of actresses.
“Ang dami naming napulot na aral from all the theater actors na parang sabi ni Kath, ‘Parang kailangan din natin manood ng theater to immerse also.’ And nakakatuwa kasi this is something different,” dugtong pa niya.
Of course, super proud din si Chie nang malamang siya ang first choice para sa role na ibinigay sa kanya for the movie, “Actually it’s a go-see and I didn’t know na yung go-see na yun, ako lang talaga ang option nila for Sab.
“And then they were really patient with me para makuha nila yung gusto nila kay Sab. And I can’t wait for you to watch it.
“Yung role ko sa AVGG (A Very Good Girl) is very different and I hope you like it. We can’t wait for you to watch it. And grabe yung makatrabaho mo si Ms. Dolly din. She’s so nice.
“And then si Kath, after Got 2 Believe, meron kaming isang scene dun na sabi namin, ‘Shucks girl, tumatanda na nga tayo.’ As in we’ve really come a long way. Mas humbling siya kasi also yung career path ni Kathryn, that’s what I look up to also,” sey pa ni Chie sa nasabing panayam.
Besides learning new stuff, this is a new chapter of my life and ang dami ko pang matututunan.
“I am 26 but I am willing to learn and I would really love to work with sir John Arcilla. Feel ko mas mapu-push pa yung craft eh, kung papaano mo pa maho-hone yung craft mo. Siyempre hindi puwedeng ma-mental block ka.
“So you really have to show your best. It’s okay to make mistakes everyone’s really understanding, like Ms. Dolly de Leon as in sobrang understanding niya. I really love her mentality,” sabi pa niya.
“’Nakakaproud from group pic to solo pic kana chiechie.’ Oo nga no? Worth it LAHAT! 15 years old ako nung nag go-see ako for @starmagicphils, after 4 months nung tinext kami para sa callback.
“Apat na callbacks yun, each callback nalalagas kami. From 38 to 8 artists at kasama ako sa 8 na napili na yun. Fast forward to today, I have my own page in the Catalogue!
“Almost 11 years with my Star Magic family grabe looking back at my journey, worth it talaga lahat—lahat nung pagod, heartbreaks, puyat at iyak. I have learned a lot from those experiences, specially from the people I have worked with that I will value for the rest of my life and hoping that I’ll be able to share those I have learned and inspire people with our journey.
“I’m a firm believer that we should trust the process and put in the hard work while we are waiting for our right time.
“Patuloy ko pa pong pagbubutihan ang aking trabaho at hindi ko po sasayangin ang mga oportunidad na binibigay niyo sakin. I will never get tired of honing my craft and learning. Nagpapa salamat po ako sa tiwala na binibigay niyo. Congratulations to us!!” ang buong caption ni Chie sa kanyang IG post.
