PASABOG ang opening salvo ng Dreamscape Television, ang “Dirty Linen”.
Role playing at its best ang ipinamalas ng main characters and even the supporting ones.
The first scene pa lang where Dolly de Leon, the first Filipina to be nominated at the Golden Globes para sa kanyang role sa “Triangle of Sadness”, ay matinding acting na ang kanyang ipinamalas.
Dolly’s short scene will be remembered and she has proven the saying that there are no small roles, only small actors.
Tessie Tomas, as the matriarch of the Fierro family displayed her no acting please drama. Kaaliw siya magbitaw ng dialog, very crisp and tagos sa buto.
At grabe ang switch of emotions niya, very drastic and sharp. In all her scenes, she played her role with characteristic chutzpah.
As usual, John Arcilla as the scheming son of Tessie also displayed his greatness as an actor. He played his character with unequal panache.
Siyempre, hindi rin nagpatalbog si Janice de Belen na ang galing-galing bilang asawa ni John. Panoorin ninyo ang eksena niya sa lover ni John Arcilla to see what we’re talking about.
Of course, hindi rin nagpahuli si Angel Aquino bilang anak ni Tessie na hindi niya pinagkakatiwalaan. May moment si Angel where she was confiding sa brother niyang si John and it was replete with emotions.
Hindi rin nagpatalbog si Epy Quizon as the husband of Angel na dating nagtatrabaho lang sa karerahan bilang kristo.
Ang galing niya sa first week episode as he displayed the right emotions especially sa tarayan nila ni John Arcilla.
Joel Torre is equally good lalo na noong nakita niya ang pambababoy sa kanyang asawang si Liza Dino.
Janine Gutierrez is equally competent bilang bida sa serye. Kitang-kita mo ang kanyang pagpipigil na makapaghiganti agad sa Fierro family.
Mahusay rin sina Jennica Garcia at Christian Bables bilang kasapakat ni Janine sa paghihiganti.
Si Zanjoe Marudo, okay na okay rin ang acting.
Mahusay ang pagkakasulat ng serye. Pasabog ang mga eksena which will make you guess kung ano ang susunod na mangyayari.
Hindi predictable ang mga scenes and it will make you glue to your seat.
With that, we can only say that “Dirty Linen” is the new standard by which soap operas are measured.
