KAHIT nangkaroon na siya ng national title dati, hindi pa rin nakalalaban si Louise Theunis sa anumang international competition.
Ngunit ngayon, maibabandera na niya ang Pilipinas sa Miss Summit International pageant sa Amerika sa susunod na taon.
Nang masungkit niya ang korona bilang Miss Bikini Philippines noong 2019, wala itong kaakibat na global pageant para salihan niya. Naiisip niya ang pagiging kinatawan ng Pilipinas sa pandaigdigang entablado, kaya sumabak sa siya iba pang national pageants, ngunit iba ang iginuhit ng tadhana para sa kanya.
Habang nag-aaral para sa master’s degree niya, nabalitaan ni Theunis ang tungkol sa Miss Summit International pageant mula sa kaibigang si Nica Zosa, ang reigning queen na nagwagi nitong Pebrero sa Les Vegas. Kaya muling nabuhay ang pagnanais niyang makarampa sa pageant.
“The Miss Summit International Pageant brings together women representing different countries to share their stories, purpose, and plans on how to create brighter futures for people all over the world, especially women who need to be empowered,” sinabi ni Theunis sa Inquirer sa isang online interview.
Pinagsabay niya ang pag-aaral at paghahanda sa pageant, na may dagdag na pasakit sapagkat sa Australia nakatakda ang pagtatanghal at hindi sa Pilipinas. Hindi na nga siya nakapagsanay ng “pasarela” (pageant walk) at interview dahil kapos na sa oras.

“The decision to hold the pageant in Australia was made by the national director, Hector Alcancia, who is also the founder of International Pageant Org. (Europe-Asia Pacific-Philippines). They offer women the chance to promote their advocacy and their country as they travel abroad,” ipinaliwanag ni Theunis.
At noong Nob. 5, sa Palazzo Versace sa Gold Coast, Australia, hinirang si Theunis bilang Best in National Costume at Best in Evening Gown, at kinoronahan din bilang Miss Summit Philippines na siyang magbibigay daan sa pagsabak niya sa Miss Summit International pageant.
“It will be a tough competition, especially considering that other countries are stepping up their game after the Philippines won in 2022. There is a lot of pressure on me and a lot of obstacles I have yet to overcome. But I can assure everyone that I will give it my utmost best as your Miss Summit Philippines 2023,” aniya.
“I will work even harder to achieve a fit and toned body, train to improve my pasarela and Q-and-A, carry out more advocacy-related activities, and do everything and more in order to bring my A game on the international stage and hopefully bring home the crown,” pagpapatuloy pa ni Theunis.
Tutulak si Theunis sa Florida sa Estados Unidos sa Agosto ng susunod na taon para sa 2023 Miss Summit International pageant na itatanghal sa Setyembre.
