Ayon sa heartthrob, “Well, during the Marcos’ time, you know, our parents would go to the States for pasture. So my mom was working for the administration for 19 years, and then a lot of things happened. We are so unstable. Our relatives were there.”

“So we moved there. So as being the minors, we were granted a petition right away, because bata pa kami,” dagdag pa niya.

Sey ng aktor, “If there’s one thing that living in States taught me was to really value work. Kung wala kang trabaho, wala kang kainin. Unlike here in the Philippines, we’re family-oriented. In the States, you’re forced to work even at a young age.”

“So you will know the value of money. So it really taught me in a hard way how to be able to just value yung oras mo when you have to work and pay your bills. So good thing also because it kind of reminds me yung showbiz life that I’m gonna take on,” aniya.

Kwento ni Piolo, “Una akong pinasok ng mommy ko sa hospital, where she was working in as a meeting ER representative slash clerk. So I was meeting patients at the admitting, I was in night shift sa ER, naga-admit ng patients.”

Dagdag pa niya “and then on the side, I worked as a security guard for the Oscars, because it is near our place.”

“It was a good experience for me, because I saw all the Hollywood stars. At that time, they had the family album. So all the stars were on one stage and they had been in one room before being on stage. So I was part of the security team that’s surrounding them,” patuloy niya.

Kwento ng aktor, “My dad was a foreign caster for foreign talents because back then in the 90’s or even in the 80’s, Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal…’yung mga nagfi-film dito na mga hollywood stars, they would require foreign talents, right? So he was the supplier.”

Chika niya, “My very first film that I did, I was in ‘Vizconde Massacre’, Kris’ film. It was my high school graduation. My dad wasn’t able to find a replacement… They will do a reenactment with Carlo J. Caparas and was my high school graduation. My dad was calling the landline at a small party with my friends and family. Sabi niya, ‘anak, you have to be here because my talent didn’t come’, so that was my first experience.”

“So parang it gave me the sense of excitement, and so there was a theater group that was formed and I joined and I felt na tuwing nagwo-workshop kami, iba ‘yung pakiramdam ko at excitement, iba ‘yung fulfillment that I get to kind of express and also I feel like I’m in therapy… So I think those are the first things that I want to get into acting,” sey niya.

Sey niya, “It wasn’t easy. I have to start again… So I have to audition and the first show that I auditioned for was ‘Sandaling Kailangan mo Ako’ with Inang, Olivia Lamasan and she made me do different acting and I got the part and I thought I was going to be one of the members of the cast, but I played the kontrabida.”

Patuloy pa ni PIolo, “Then they put me sa ‘Esperanza’ kay Judy Ann as a kontrabida again, then on the side ahead of the film ‘Lagarista.’ So I was doing everything as soon as I started, dire-diretso.”

Sabi ni Piolo, “I felt as if I have a home, you know, I felt as if this is where I belong, this is my business and it’s working. I’m productive, and you know, I’m recognized in a way so it kind of gave me that boost that I needed just to be confident and more comfortable with what I was doing.”
