“I think all of them, lahat ng mga artista involved, na ako siguro yung may pinakamaraming years in service.
“Ang dami ko ring nagawang telebisyon, mga shows and movies for that matter. Kaya minsan umaabot talaga sa technique, yung mga nakasanayan to show the audience more or less kung anong hinahanap o na-a-appreciate at kung ano na siguro yung hindi na dapat gawin.
“That was the biggest challenge for me. Because I had to work with some very, very gifted actors younger than I was. And at the same time, adaptation ng isang foreign teleserye,” pahayag ni Edu sa “Killer Finale” presscon ng “Flower Of Evil.”
So kahit papaano, hinahawakan pa rin yung kamay ko as we were all holding each other’s hands, para lang makalabas ng isang magandang produkto.”
Nang ialok daw sa kanya ang karakter ni Henry Del Rosario sa “Flower Of Evil”, “To be honest, I was very unsure because I had also talked to them in the beginning and I said I haven’t done something like this.
“It felt dark to me from the very beginning. Everyone knows me naman na yung character ko very wholesome.
“So ito bago and to be able to put all these elements together at the same time, made me feel that I was not going down into hell, na maaring maisalba ko pa rin yung sarili ko na it wouldn’t be a totally bad character.
“But because of the support of our directors and of course the producers at yung tiyaga ng lahat ng mga artista, I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen so far,” litanya pa ng beteranong aktor.
“So I went with the feel kung ano yung ibinigay sa akin ni Paulo or ni Piolo or even Lovi. With Agot (Isidro) consistent kasi it wasn’t hard because we’re friends.
“Ang isang napansin namin is yung materyal is not what our viewers have gotten used to through the years. So there was a certain element within this story na I’m sure, for the first couple of episodes, mag-iisip din sila at magtataka.
“But at least it gives them a chance to appreciate a lot of better stories, of a greater variety themes and genres, that would lead to all the Filipino actors eventually getting involved in other types of films and TV shows,” ani Edu.
Tutukan ang pagtatapos ng “Flower Of Evil” ngayong araw, October 9 via Viu, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
The Philippine remake of the hit South Korean series is directed by by Darnel Villaflor and Richard Arellano. Kasama rin dito sina Joross Gamboa, Agot Isidro, Joem Bascon, Denise Laurel, Epy Quizon, Rita Avila, Jett Pangan, Pinky Amador at Joko Diaz.
