ISINAPUBLIKO ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang mga mugshots ng TV host-comedian na si Vhong Navarro.
Ngayong Martes ng hapon, Setyembre 20, ibinahagi ng ahensya sa kanilang official Facebook account ang mga larawan ng “It’s Showtime” host.
Ito ay may kinalaman sa dalawang kasong isinampa ni Deniece Cornejo laban kay Vhong na rape at acts of lasciviousness noon pang Enero 2014.
Naglabas nga rin ng pahayag ang NBI ukol sa boluntaryong pagsuko ng komedyante sa kanilang opisina nitong Lunes, September 19 matapos maglabas ng arrest warrant ng Metropolitan Trial Court, Branch 116 ng Taguig City para sa kasong acts of lasciviousness.
Nagbayad naman ito ng P36,000 para sa bail ngunit na-detain na si Vhong sa kustodiya ng ahensyamatapos ilabas ang ikalawang arrest warrant para naman sa kasong rape na non-bailable.
At ayon nga sa inilabas na statement ay inilipat na ang isa sa mga main host ng “It’s Showtime” sa NBI-Security and Management Section (NBI-SMS) matapos ang negative result nito sa COVID-19.
Narito ang buong pahayag ng NBI, “Actor Vhong Navarro, on September 19, 2022, surrendered to National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) after a Warrant of Arrest was issued against him.
“Through his legal counsel, Vhong Navarro coordinated with the NBI expressing his intent to voluntarily surrender in relation to the Warrant of Arrest issued against him for Acts of Lasciviousness by the Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC) Branch 116, Taguig City on September 15, 2022. The bail for the said case was fixed at Php 36,000.00.
“In the morning of September 19, 2022, the actor, together with his counsels appeared before the NBI, Vtech Tower, G. Araneta Avenue, Quezon City to voluntarily submit himself to the custody of the NBI. He was thereafter processed as per the Bureau’s standard operating procedure.
“In the afternoon of the same day, another Warrant of Arrest for Rape, with no bail recommended, was issued against Vhong Navarro by the Regional Trial Court Branch 69, Taguig City.
“Accordingly, he was subjected to antigen test where he tested negative and was turned over to NBI-Security and Management Section (NBI-SMS) today, September 20, 2022 for detention.”
Ayon naman sa abogado ni Vhong na si Atty. Alma Mallonga ay maghahain sila ng petition for bail para sa agarang paglaya ng kanyang kliyente.
