Miel Pangilinan at Sharon Cuneta
“BE strong! It’s your life, no one else’s!” Yan ang isa sa mga advice na ibinigay ni Megastar Sharon Cuneta sa anak na si Miel Pangilinan matapos ibandera ang pagiging proud member ng LGBTQIA+ community.
Bilang ina, gagawin ni Sharon ang lahat para protektahan at ipagtanggol ang kanyang mga anak kabilang na ang mga manghuhusga sa pagkatao ng mga ito.
Sa kanyang Instagram account, ibinahagi ng award-winning actress-singer ang kanyang mensahe sa pag-come out ni Miel bilang isang “queer”.
Ni-repost ni Mega ang mga litratong ginamit ng anak sa IG (may hawak na rainbow flag) kalakip ang madamdamin niyang mensahe.
“I know that my Miel’s coming out will draw lots of attention. Lots of them will be negative. Lots of people who are quick to judge instead of pausing to think for a moment that my daughter, like so many members of the LGBTQ+ Community, did not choose to be queer.
“She just is. I believe God doesn’t make mistakes. So many of the most sincere and most decent people I know are also LGBTQ+ and I love them for all that they are,” pahayag ni Sharon.
Aniya, mas mahalaga pa rin ang personal na kaligayahan ng kanyang anak kesa sa mga sasabihin ng mga mapanghusga o mga judgmental na tao.
“What’s next is that I will have a happier daughter who is now ‘free’ and will always be a good person with a good heart – and still always courageous. She is cute in that her crushes on boys especially in K-Pop are genuine.
“And if she likes girls that’ll be genuine too. She will certainly be treated no different by us her family and those who truly love her. I will love her just the same, if not more. Like I said, all my children are PERFECT.
“I may be a Mom with traditional values, but that doesn’t mean that my mind is too tiny to accept people for what they are – what more my own child?
“What matters in a person is their goodness. Sincerity, pureness of heart. Faith in God. In Miel, I have all those. I am proud of my girl and always will be. Needless to say, she will always have my support and love.

Sa comments section naman ng IG post ni Miel, nag-iwan ng komento ang ama niyang si Sen. Kiko Pangilinan at tulad ni Mega, super proud din ito sa katapangan at pagpapakatotoo ng dalagita.
