SOBRANG ganda ng magiging role ni Megastar Sharon Cuneta sa upcoming US series na “Concepcion”.
Ito ay isang bonggang collaboration ng ABS-CBN at ng Filipino-American actor na si Reggie Lee with Filipino-American film producer Jeremiah Abraham, and the United States’ Only Human Productions.
Unang ibinandera ni Sharon sa publiko ang tungkol dito sa kanyang Instagram page kung saan ipinost nga niya ang isa sa mga working poster ng “Concepcion.”
Nag-joke pa nga ang OPM at movie icon tungkol sa titulo ng nasabing American series, talaga raw hanggang ngayon ay ikinokonek pa rin siya sa apelyido ng isang taong naging bahagi rin ng kanyang buhay.
Obviously, ang tinutukoy ni Mega ay ang ex-husband na si Gabby Concepcion.
“Sige magtawa kayo sa title! Eh wala ganon talaga, eh. Trabaho lang, walang personalan!
“Just might be my surprise [number one] for all of you! This is Hollywood, (you all)!” sabi ni Sharon sa caption ng kanyang IG post.
Ang “Concepcion” ay isang American crime drama, “which centers on a Filipino family ruling over Historic Filipinotown or HiFi in Los Angeles.” Hindi naman nabanggit ni Mega kung ano ang magiging role niya sa US series.
Samantala, ayon naman kay Ruel Bayani, ang head ng ABS-CBN International Production and Co-Production, talagang napakalaking proyekto para kay Sharon ang “Concepcion.”
“I can understand why Sharon is so excited because it’s a very good role. I’m very thrilled for her!” sey pa ng TV executive sa panayam ng ABS-CBN.
Hindi rin nagbigay ng impormasyon si Direk Ruel kung ano ang magiging role ni Mega sa nasabing international series, “She’s playing a major role at talagang ang ganda-ganda ng role, ang ganda ng script.”
Aniya pa, naging interesado ang ABS-CBN sa pagpo-produce ng “Concepcion” along with the other co-producers, “One of the reasons why also we were interested is, because, you know how much we love Sharon, how much we want to support her through this endeavor.”
“Filipino showrunners have been developing it for some time. Iyon naman ang uniqueness dito,” sey pa ni Direk Ruel.
“ABS-CBN will be the local production company for the filming of the scenes here in the Philippines. We will be also helping them sa casting, with our Filipino actors and our Star Magic talents,” dugtong pang sabi ng direktor at producer.
“This is just too special not be involved, not to be a partner, kasi ang ganda ng project,” aniya pa.
At tungkol naman sa title ng serye, “This will help define the Filipino-American narrative, our inclusion, our representation, our diversity, which are all very important issues, not just in Hollywood but everywhere else.”
Base sa nakalagay na synopsis ng “Concepcion”, “the series seeks to examine the world of an Asian-American crime patriarch, a world of drugs and money, but also heritage and pride, viewed through origins, history, choices and consequences.”
