“No. Actually, the first time po that I was invited to join a national pageant, that organization told me not to be open about my preferences, my sexuality.

“And I felt that it was wrong. That it was not right to be in a competition not being myself.

“So, when I had that chance to be in Binibining Cebu, and I won the competition, I really used that platform to represent the LGBTQ community.

“It was something that I had to do, not only for myself, but for the rest of the community,” katwiran pa ng dalaga na nanalong Binibining Cebu 2020 noong January, 2020.

“I believe I got this courage from my mom, who taught me to really be myself, to fight for the things that I believe in.

“She raised me and my sister single-handedly. She received a lot of discrimination because she’s a single mom, and I learned from her to be brave.

“As long as wala kaming inaapakan na tao, as long as you’re able to love other people and not hurt them. You have to really stand for what you believe in and I got that from my mom,” dagdag pang paliwanag ni Bea.

Patuloy pa niya, “I was very fortunate na I didn’t have to come out to anyone. When I said to my mom na I have this preference to be with the same sex, she accepted me. So did everybody else.

“That was one of the biggest things that really helped me to perform the best in everything that I do, and I’m really grateful for the people who supported me,” pahayag pa ng Pinay beauty queen.
