MUKHANG gagawa na naman ng kasaysayan ang hit South Korean series na “Squid Game” matapos itong makakuha ng tatlong nominasyon sa 79th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
Ang “Squid Game” ang itinuturing ngayong pinaka-successful series sa Netflix dahil sa milyun-milyong taong nakapanood nito all over the universe.
Sa ginanap na live ceremony sa Beverly Hilton, California hosted by Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) president and Helen Hoehne and rapper Snoop Dogg, ibinandera nga ang mga nakuhang nominasyon sa tatlong kategorya ng 2021 Golden Globes.
Ang Korean actor na si Lee Jung Jae, na gumanap bilang Seong Gi Hun (Player 456) ay nominado para sa Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Drama. Makakalaban niya rito sina Brian Cox at Jeremy Strong (Succession), Billy Porter, (Pose), and Omar Sy (Lupin).
Ang gumanap naman bilang si Oh Il-nam (Player 1) na si O Yeong Su ay lalaban sa Best Supporting Actor category, Television kasama sina Billy Crudup at Mark Duplass (The Morning Show), Kieran Culkin (Succession), and Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso).
Makikipaglaban naman ang “Squid Game,” sa Best Television Series Drama category kung saan nominado rin ang “Pose,” “The Morning Show,” “Succession” at “Lupin.”
Ayon sa Korea Dispatch, “Squid Game is the first Korean series to be nominated at the Golden Globes” na kamakailan lang ay itinanghal na “The Bingeworthy Show of 2021” title sa People’s Choice Awards.
Habang ang director naman nitong si Hwang Dong Hyuk ay napasama sa Top 50 list ng Bloomberg.
