Tinalo ng tubong Davao City na si Corteza si 2007 world 9-ball titlist Daryl Peach ng Great Britain, 11-4, habang ginulat naman ni Gabica si 1995 world 9-ball champion Oliver Ortmann ng Germany, 11-8.
Nabigo naman kahapon si Israel Rota na makausad nang madapa siya kontra Lo Li Wen ng Taiwan, 11-2.
Limang iba pang Pinoy ang kasalukuyang naglalaro sa round-of-32 kagabi. Ang mga ito ay sina Jeffrey De Luna, Ramil Gallego, Carlo Biado, Marlon Manalo at Dennis Orcullo, ang number one pool player ng bansa.
Nalaglag na sa torneo sina Efren “Bata” Reyes, Francisco “Django” Bustamante at Alex Pagulayan.
