Hong Kong travel ban ‘hindi pa pinal’ – NTF

NILINAW ng National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 ngayong Linggo na pinapayagan pa rin ang inbound Hong Kong flights sa kabila ng banta ng COVID-19 Omicron variant.

“The NTF wishes to clarify that the inclusion of Hong Kong flights as part of inbound international flights temporarily suspended due to the emergence of the Omicron variant is not yet final,” sa pahayag ng NTF.

Hinihintay pa umano ng ahensya ang pinal na rekomendasyon ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) kaugnay ng nasabing usapin.

“We await the formal announcement from the IATF following a final recommendation from the Technical Working Group on COVID-19 Variants and other agencies,”

“The government, through favorable recommendations of the Department of Health (DOH) will work to ensure timely adoption of preemptive measures to prevent  or delay the entry of new variants which have the potential for undermining public health,” dagdag pa ng NTF.

Sinabi pa ng ahensya, magpapatuloy pa rin ang HK flights hangga’t may formal announcement mula sa IATF.

Noong Sabado, inilahad ng Kagawaran ng Kalusugan (DOH) na pinag-uusapan na ang pagpapalawig ng travel ban sa ibang bansa upang maiwasan ang pagpasok ng COVID-19 Omicron variant sa Pilipinas.

Sa kasalukuyan, sinuspende na ang mga flights mula sa South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini, at Mozambique hanggang Disyembre 15.
