Barbie Imperial at Diego Loyzaga
HINDI rin nagpatalbog pagdating sa aktingan at matinding iyakan si Diego Loyzaga sa bagong pelikula ng Viva Films na “More Than Blue” na pinagbibidahan nina Yassi Pressman at JC Santos sa direksyon ni Nuel Naval.
Napanood na namin ang movie (Philippine adaptation ng 2009 hit South Korean drama film) sa ginanap na special screening last Thursday sa Robinsons Magnolia sa Quezon City.
Marami ang nagsabi na sana’y mabigyan pa ng mas maraming project si Diego tulad ng “More Than Blue” dahil bagay na bagay din sa kanya ang magdrama at umiyak. Timpladung-timplado ang atake niya sa kanyang role.
“Yung character ko kasi dito as John Luis he’s very genuine and mahal lang niya talaga si Cream (Yassi). He’s in love with her charisma, not really knowing so much yung history nila ni K (JC). I wanted to be the guy that Cream ends up with. That’s pretty much yung need ng character ko in this story. I wanted to be her partner in life,” kuwento ni Diego.
Aniya pa, “Yung pinaggagalingan ng character ko is he wanted to be loved and to love also. That’s how I can relate, being in a relationship. Parang I just transcended that longingness and wanting to be loved and to love.
“So that’s what I did with this character who is a dentist na sosyal who falls for this character na si Cream. But yun na nga, it’s not that simple yung set-up ni Cream, K, and John.
“That’s the whole part of the story and yun yung makikita n’yo sa movie. But that’s definitely how I saw myself in my character,” aniya pa.
Dagdag pang chika ni Diego, “When I read the script I was very excited about it. I told Yassi about this, sabi ko, ‘When I was reading the script hindi ko masyado nage-gets until umabot ako sa dulo and then everything parang poured down and I said grabe itong pelikulang ‘to, ang bigat,’ sabi ko. Ha-hahaha!

“And then when I was thinking about my character and how I was supposed to do John Luis, honestly it’s Yassi and JC who will bring you to tears and make you feel what you’re supposed to feel from this movie,” dagdag pa ng boyfriend ni Barbie Imperial.
Sey pa ng binata, hindi rin naging madali sa kanya ang paghahanda para sa role niya sa “More Than Blue”, “I’d always keep on asking, ‘Direk, okay lang ba yung ginawa ko?’ and then sasabihin ko I could have done it differently and then he’d tell me, ‘Okay yun Diegs.
Talagang kailangang ganun si John Luis.’
“And then parang I’d always go back and think, ‘Would Diego really do this?’ Parang hindi. Pero in the story John Luis is like this so direk would reassure me that it’s okay. I’m happy with the overall performance.
“I’m happy with yung nakita ko kasi I dubbed so napanood ko na nang kaunti. So overall it was an incredible experience. It was my first time working with these guys na ganito katindi yung project. So I was very happy,” aniya pa.
Samantala, sa tanong naman kung hanggang saan ang kaya niyang isakripisyo pagdating sa love, lalo pa’t very open na sila ngayon ni Barbie sa kanilang relasyon.
“Ang dami kong puwedeng sabihin dyan, ah. That’s a very hard question to answer. Literally everything and anything as this movie shows. As K and Cream shows.
“Actually even my character here, ewan ko kung sabihin mong martir or tanga pero ang sakit din na parang mahal mo yung isang tao tapos alam mong yung taong yun may mahal pang iba. Or yung hindi pa siya nakakapag-move on sa isang tao.
“And I guess understanding and sacrifice, parang kasama siya eh, so in real life there are always sacrifices when there is something you and your partner disagree on, any certain topic or everything. Ha-hahaha! Magsa-sacrifice ka.
“Alam ko they say that if you really love a person you’re not supposed to ask them to change. Pero parang ikaw sa sarili mo, maybe this doesn’t apply to everyone pero for myself, if I really love a person, as much as possible I won’t do anything to hurt the person I love.
“So by changing or making myself different, I also sacrifice something in exchange of becoming a different person for the person I love,” diin pa ng anak nina Cesar Montano at Teresa Loyzaga.
Bukod sa “More Than Blue”, bibida rin si Diego sa isa pang pelikula ng Viva Films, ang “Dulo” na unang pagtatambal ng girlfriend niyang si Barbie Imperial.
