BINASAG na nang tuluyan ni Film Development Council of the Philippines Chairperson Liza Diño ang chika na tatakbo siya sa isang elective position sa Eleksyon 2022.
Ito’y matapos ngang kumalat ang balita na may plano umano siyang tumakbong senador o congresswoman para sa isang partylist sa susunod na taon bilang kinatawan ng LGBTQIA+ community.
“Saan kaya nanggagaling ‘yan? I am not running,” ang sagot ni Chair Liza sa virtual mediacon kahapon para sa launching ng 2nd PelikuLAYA: LGBTQIA+ Film Festival online na magaganap mula June 4 hanggang June 30 bilang bahagi ng Pride Month celebration.
Paliwanag pa ng asawa ni Ice Seguerra, “Actually my main concern is how to make sure that the programs we started (sa FDCP) will still continue after the elections.”
“Magaganda naman at proud ako sa nagawa at nasimulan namin the last five years. Alam ng team namin how hard we worked for it. Ang goal namin is to institutionalize some of our programs that can support the FDCP in the future. Sana maalagaan lang,” ang dagdag pang katwiran ni Liza.
Inaasahan na ni Chair Liza na mas marami pa siyang challenges na haharapin ngayong turning 40 na siya this month, ngunit ipinagdiinan niya na wala sa agenda niya ang tumakbo sa susunod na eleksyon.
“It’s enough that I learned a lot and received a lot of support at the FDCP,” sey pa niya.
Naibahagi rin ng aktres na hindi na muna nila ipa-priority ni Ice ang plano nilang magka-baby through surrogacy.
“We’re all going through financial constraints during the pandemic. Both of us are trying to sustain our life for now. When it happens it will happen,” sabi ni Liza.
Idinetalye rin niya ang kumplikadong proseso ng surrogacy kung saan kukuha ng egg mula kay Ice na siyang ilalagay sa kanyang sinapupunan.
“I will carry the baby through surrogacy but under our present laws, the baby will be legally mine and Ice will have no rights. If I do get pregnant, we will have to go the United States where Ice will be recognized as the father,” pahayag ni Chair.
Samantala, malapit na malapit sa puso nina Liza at Ice ang bagong proyekto ng FDCP, ito ngang Pelikulaya filmfest kung saan itatampok ang 15 vintage at bagong film features tungkol sa LGBT issues, kabilang na riyan ang “T-bird at Ako,” ni Danny Zialcita starring Nora Aunor and Vilma Santos; at ang obra ni Brillante Mendoza na “Masahista” na pinagbibidahan ni Coco Martin.
“This is an opportunity for us to have discussions on issues that have not been resolved. In real life, same sex unions, civil rights and attendant tax reform have not been addressed.
“Pelikulaya will be fun but it will also create understanding for the community. We can bring government, the private sector and the public together to expand our advocacy,” dagdag pa ni Chair Liza.
May magaganap ding mala-beauty pageant na paandar, “to highlight the filmfest with a pasarela 30-seconder video competition wherein participants will sashay in their own look with sashes emblazoned with positive words like Self Love, Equality, Inclusivity, Dignity and many others.”
