KAHIT nabigong maiuwi ang korona at titulong 2020 Miss Grand International, waging-wagi pa rin sa puso ng mga Filipino si Miss Philippines Samantha Bernardo.
Para sa mga Pinoy na tumutok sa grand coronation night nitong nagdaang weekend, ibinandera talaga niya ang Pilipinas at lumaban talaga nang bonggang-bongga si Samantha sa nasabing pageant.
Hindi man siya nanalo, nagpasalamat pa rin ang dalaga sa nakuhang first runner-up title sa 2020 Miss Grand International pageant. Binati rin niya ang nagwaging si Miss USA Abena Akuaba Appiah.
Sa kanyang Instagram page, ibinahagi ni Samantha ang ilang litrato na kuha sa pageant kasama na ang photo nila ni Appia at iba pang kandidata.
Aniya sa caption, “Maraming salamat po @nawat.tv @teresa.mgi @valentinafiguerm and to all our Queen judges.
“Everyone deserves to be here. I am so happy to have these beautiful moment with @lalacguedes @aurrakharishma @ivana.batch and of course our very own, my @kfforcrownandcountry sister @abenaakuaba. I love you. You know that. I told you, we will be in Top 2,” pahayag ng Pinay beauty queen.
Sabi pa ng dalaga, sumali siya sa nasabing competition “to fulfill my purpose of being a symbol of hope, compassion and unity.”
“I know I did my best and I have lived up to my purpose. I hope I made you proud again Philippines. Isang karangalan Mahal Kong Pilipinas,” mensahe pa niya.
Pinasalamatan din ni Samantha ang lahat ng sumuporta at nagdasal para sa kanyang tagumpay.
Sa kanyang speech sa pageant, binigyang-diin ni Samantha ang kanyang adbokasiya para sa “better healthcare system and education” at ang laban niya kontra racism.
“As a malaria-free Philippines spokesperson, I have always lived up to my faith in humanity, cultural understanding and respect for others. These are what I will continue to stand for if I become your next Miss Grand International.
“As we face a COVID-19 free world, join me as we work together in mending our conflicts and focusing on what truly matters.
“We are living under one sky so let us all live peacefully where love is our language, humanity is our race and peace is our lasting legacy in our world,” aniya pa.
