HINDI nandaya at lumaban daw nang patas ang itinanghal na Miss Universe Philippines 2020 na si Rabiya Mateo.
Kaya raw ipagsigawan ni Rabiya sa buong universe na malinis ang kanyang kunsensya at walang katotohanan ang mga kumakalat na balita na niluto ang pagkapanalo niya sa katatapos lang na beauty pageant.
“As much as I want people to love me, hindi naman kasi lahat magugustuhan ako,” ang pahayag ng beauty queen sa panayam ng “24 Oras.”
Tao lang daw siya na naaapektuhan ng mga ibinabatong issue sa pagkapanalo niya sa pageant pero ayon sa Filipina-Indian mula sa Iloilo City tanggap niya na bahagi ng tagumpay niya ang mga ganitong pangyayari.
Paliwanag pa niya, “So ngayon, it’s a test of character, a test of faith. Pero alam ko kasi na I played the game right and fair.”
Patuloy pa niyang reaksyon sa mga bumabatikos sa kanya, “Some of the girls din na may sinasabi, I befriended them during the competition and you know, hindi naman ganu’n ‘yung treatment nila sa akin althroughout.
“So, I’d like to still remember them as somebody who were there nu’ng nahihirapan ako rather than those people who are bitter about my success. I need to understand where they’re coming from,” lahad pa ni Rabiya na siyang magiging representative ng Pilipinas sa Miss Universe 2020.
Sa isa pang panayam, sinabi ng beauty queen na, “To be honest po, maybe I wasn’t a frontrunner so people didn’t expect me to win and now that I have the crown.
“They’re questioning my capability as a person, as a candidate, but I know that I did everything and anything that I could during that night and ibinigay ko talaga.
“And yung mga nagsasabi na the question was given to me that’s why I answered that way, it wasn’t given po sa akin. I did everything that I could because I want to make Iloilo City proud,” ang pahayag ng dalaga.
“Of course it was painful because there are things na you can settle by talking with each other. At the end of the day, this is a competition and being the bigger person in the picture, I need to understand where they are coming from,” dagdag pa niya.
