HUMINGI na ng ayuda ang TV host-comedian na si Vice Ganda kay Manila Mayor Isko Moreno para sa mga LGBTQIA+ members na inaresto ng mga pulis nitong Biyernes.
Ayon kay Vice, hindi makatarungan ang ginawang pag-aresto at pag-disperse ng mga otoridad sa mga lumahok sa Anti-Terror Bill Pride March na ginanap sa Mendiola, Manila
Inakusahan ng mga pulis ang ilang mga sumali sa rally ng paglabag sa COVID-19 protocols partikular na ang mahigpit na ipinatutupad na physical distancing.
Kaya naman nanawagan na ang komedyante kay Mayor Isko na tulungan ang mga kapatid niya sa LGBTQ. Nag-post si Vice ng mensahe si Twitter na naka-address sa alkalde ng Maynila.
Tweet ng It’s Showtime host, “Anu tooooooooo????? Pakiexplain po? Saklolo naman po dyan Yorme!!!!
“Sa aking pagkakaalam LGBTQIA+ friendly ang Maynila at si Yorme. Beke nemeenn!!!” aniya pa.
Nang walang nakuhang reply mula sa dating actor-politiciam muling nag-tweet si Vice at tinag na si Isko, “Saklolo Yorme @IskoMoreno!!!!”
Habang sinusulat namin ang balitang ito ay wala pang nakukuhang sagot si Vice mula sa mayor ng Maynila.
Samantala, kinuwestiyon din ng celebrity photographer at proud member ng LGBTQIA+ community na si BJ Pascual ang mga nag-rally sa nasabing Pride March.
“Huling weekend na ng #PrideMonth and this is what happened earlier during a peaceful #Pride protest.
“Despite following physical distancing measures, the protesters were arrested by the police. When asked by the protesters and the media about what their violations were, the police couldn’t give a violation.
“They tried to arrest a member of the media. The police officers even hijacked one of the protesting groups’ own private van to take them to the Manila police headquarters.
“Quoting Samantha Lee (filmmaker and an advocate of LGBTQIA+ rights), ‘For everyone who has ever said that we have disproportionately reacted to the Anti-Terrorism Bill, hindi po kami nakiki-bandwagon o nagpapadala sa ‘cute’ graphics, may dahilan tayo para mangamba.’
“Kung ngayon wala pang Anti-Terror Bill, ganito na ang nangyayari, ano pa kung naipabatas na ito? Invalid pa rin ba ang fear sa pang-aabuso? Always remember, #Pride started out and will always be a protest! Kaya #WagPatinag!” ang mensahe ni BJ.
