HINAMON ni ACT Rep. France Castro si Education Sec. Leonor Briones na subukang i-demo ang distance learning sa mga mahihirap at liblib na lugar.
Sa iisang pahayag, sinabi ni Castro na masasakripisyo ang kalidad ng edukasyon dahil sa kakulangan ng pasilidad at iba pang kinakailangang gamit.
“The Department of Education must also ensure quality and accessible education with its determination to push through with the opening of the next school year in August,” ani Castro.
Ayon sa ACT, tatlong linggo na mula ng magsimula ang enrollment pero 48 porsyento pa lamang ng inaasahang enrollees ng DepEd ang nakapagpatala.
“Ang mababang enrollment rate mula noong magbukas ito tatlong linggo na ang nakakalilipas ay senyales dapat sa DepEd na maraming mag-aaral ang nahihirapan at mahihirapan kapag ipilit ang blended learning mode lalo na para sa mga pinaka mahihirap na pamilya,” ani Castro.
“Ultimately, DepEd policy for their back-to-school program is anti-poor. The education department assumes that all students are capable of teaching themselves at home using printed, soft copies or online versions of their modules. It assumes that all students have parents that can help them learn their lessons.”
Sinabi ni Castro na dapat mag-isip-isip na ang DepEd kung itutuloy pa nito ang pasukan sa Agosto.
“…It should first and foremost ensure that quality and accessibility of education will not be sacrificed. No child shall be left behind. Ano pa ang saysay ng pilit na pagbubukas ng pasukan kung karamihan sa mga mag-aaral, lalo na sa mga nagmula sa pinakamahihirap na pamiliya, ay walang access sa kalidad na edukasyon?”
