May justice ba sa The King: Eternal Monarch?

The King: Eternal Monarch ended last Friday.

SPOILER ALERT. If you haven’t finished it yet, do not read ahead.

Someone is asking me to write about this K-drama in relation to our present socio political condition. Another is suggesting that I write it the way I plotted and wrote Ang Paglilitis ni Adan at Eba in my Inquirer-Bandera column.

A lawyer friend also asked me whether the prince – the villain and the coup plotter in the series – was given due process before he was killed ( summary executed or nanlaban Philippine style ).

These people can’t get over with this K-drama. Let’s face and admit It, it ended. No more Season 2.

Honestly, I will miss this K-drama. I will miss King Lee Gon and Lt Jung Tae-eul. I thought I would never see her (Kim Go-eun) again after Goblin.

The best part of this K-drama was when Lady Noh read this poem;

” What is your reason for doing that?

Sitting alone by the stream,

The green grass was sprouting and the water was splashing from the spring breeze.

You promised that even if you go,

You won’t be gone forever

That is what you promised.

I sit by the stream each day

And think about it endlessly

When you promised that even if you go,

You won’t be gone forever,

Were you asking me not to forget you? “

It was really touching. Nakakakilig but somehow there is sadness deep in your heart. The words of the poem cut through your inner feelings. Something you cannot really describe.

Thanks to this K-drama for making me feel like I’m 18 years old again.
