2,422 sunog naitala sa NCR sa loob ng 5 buwan
UMABOT na sa 2,422 ang bilang ng sunog na naitala sa National Capital Region sa unang limang buwan ng taon.
Ayon sa Bureau of Fire Protection sa mga ito 586 ang structural fire. Kasama dito ang 457 na residential fires.
Ang non-structural fires naman ay 1,836.
Pangunahing sanhi ng sunog ang electrical connections, upos ng sigarilyo at open flame dulot ng rubbish/bonfire.
Noong Mayo 30 nagkaroon ng industrial fire sa Gen. Mascardo, Brgy. Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City. Nagsimula ang sunog sa ikatlong palapag ng gusali ng Hopewell Sales Corporation. Limang milyong halaga ng ari-arian ang nasunog.
Sa huling dalawang araw ng Mayo, 31 ang naitalang sunog ng BFP-NCR. Sa mga ito 22 ang electrical poles, anim ang residential fire, dalawa ang rubbish fire at isa ang industrial fires.
