INAPRUBAHAN ng House committee on basic education ang panukalang TV broadcast schooling bilang bahagi ng new normal sa sektor ng edukasyon.
Ayon kay Manila Teachers Rep. Virgilio Lacson malawak ang abot ng TV broadcast kaya makatutulong ito sa paghahatid ng edukasyon sa mga bahay.
“It will include grade levels K-12, all broadcasted simultaneously on different channels as 6 hour daily classes. The 23 million public school students may now rest easy as no student will be left behind while learning in the comfort and safety of their home,” ani Lacson.
Ang paggamit ng alternatibong paraan ng pagtuturo sa mga estudyante ay isang hakbang upang masunod ang health protocols na kailangan upang hindi kumalat ang coronavirus disease 2019.
Bukod dito ay ipinanukala rin ang pagsasagawa ng online classes subalit limitado lamang ang mga pamilya na mayroong maayos na internet access.
Magiging problema rin ang social distancing sa loob ng silid-aralan lalo na sa mga pampublikong paaralan.
Ayon kay Lacson ang sabay-sabay na paggamit ng internet ng mga estudyante ay magiging problema rin sa limitadong bandwidth capacity ng bansa.
“….the tried and tested method of TV broadcasting was superior and more inclusive than online streaming. It overcomes the prohibitive cost of having a smart device, and the government’s resources may be preserved for other purposes.”
