THE gradual resumption of work over some selected areas under the general community quarantine is the beginning of a new normal in the world of work. Government is thinking of only 30 percent of important industries may able to open.
Baka kasama ka doon sa mga 70 percent na extended din ang no work, no pay at nakanganga dahil magpapatuloly ang walang sweldo dahil sa lockdown.
Pero wag mawalan ng loob. Ubusin mo na ang sama ng iyong loob at pagkatapos mong mag-rant, isipin ang mga paraan kung paano ka makaka-survive sa sinasabing “new normal”. I suggest you acquire new skill and cultivate new ability.
In order for us working people to survive the new normal, there is high need to adapt new skills, improve our existing abilities and innovate, including understanding and acquiring new technologies such cloud computing.
Dahil sa Covid-19, mukhang lalawak ang paggamit ng Internet technology. Ibig kong sabihin, malamang na maging permanente na ang 30 percent na papasok sa mga opisina at pabrika habang ang 70 percent ay nasa labas ng opisina at pabrika working remotely or working from home. Eto na nga yung sinasabi nilang magiging “new normal”.
Embrace the new normal. You have to have multi-skills, improve your ability and develop further your higher potentials in order to survive.
Speaking of gradual return to work, heto yung mga industries na maaring payagan na mag operate at balik trabaho.
Category 1- Health and social care workers directly supporting the coronavirus response or life-threatening emergency work. Energy suppliers and staff providing childcare or learning for other category one staff are also included.
Category 2- All other health, social work and care workers, and wider public sector workers providing critical and emergency welfare services. This includes workers in the fire, police and prison services.
Category 3- All workers without whom there could be a significant impact but where the response to coronavirus, or the ability to perform essential tasks to keep the country running, would not be severely compromised.
