7 movies na na-‘quarantine’ dahil sa Covid-19

DAHIL sa pandemic ay maraming big budget Hollywood movies ang hindi naipalabas o maipalalabas soon.

Kung fan ka ng Marvel Cinematic Universe, maghihintay ka pa ng hanggang November bago mapanood ang Black Widow at kung fan ka ni Tom Cruise, wait ka muna hanggang before Christmas para sa sequel ng 1986 hit niya na Top Gun.

Here’s a rundown of some movies with release dates affected by Covid-19.

Mulan

Sa kasagsagan ng Covid-19 outbreak sa China noong February sana ipalalabas doon ang live-action version ng Mulan. Pero dahil sarado ang mga sinehan, nagdesisyon ang Disney na ipagpaliban ang world premiere. Siyempre hindi na rin itinuloy wng showing nito sa US noong March 27. Hopefully ay mapapanood na ito sa July 24.

Base sa Chinese folklore na “The Ballad of Mulan,” nakasentro ang pelikula kay Mulan, anak ng isang warrior na nagpanggap na lalaki upang makapaglingkod sa Imperial Army.

A Quiet Place II

Sa September na mapapanood ang sequel ng horror movie about human-killing aliens instead of March 20.

The movie follows Emily Blunt’s character as she fights for her family’s survival in silence.

The sequel was written and directed by Blunt’s hubby John Krasinski and also stars Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.

Kumita ang unang pelikula ng $340M world-wide.

No Time to Die

Sa March 31 sa Royal Albert Hall sa London nakatakda sana ang world premiere ng bagong James Bond movie, pero dahil sa pandemic ay inurong ito sa November 20. Ito na ang final appearance ni Daniel Craig bilang agent 007. Kasama rito ang Oscar winner na si Rami Malek as “a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.”

Black Widow

Initially set to hit cinemas on May 1, sa November 6 na mapapanood ang first solo adventure ni Black Widow. Bida rito si Scarlett Johansson who plays

Natasha Romanoff habang ang kwento ay nakapokus sa mga pangyayari matapos ang “Captain America: Civil War.” It also stars Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, William Hurt, Ray Winstone and Rachel Weisz and is directed by Cate Shortland.

Fast & Furious 9

Marami na ang excited na mapanood sa ika-siyam na installment ng Fast & Furious, pero dahil sa pandemic ay maghihintay pa tayo ng isang taon sa release nito.

Mula sa May 22, nagdesisyon ang Universal Pictures na iurong ang Vin Diesel-starrer sa April 2, 2021.

Ginawa mismo ni Vin Ang announcement sa social media.

“We feel all the love and the anticipation you have for the next chapter in our saga. That’s why it’s especially tough to let you know that we have to move the release date of the film. It’s become clear that it won’t be possible for all of our fans around the world to see the film this May. While we know there is disappointment in having to wait a little while longer, this move is made with the safety of everyone as our foremost consideration,” sabi niya.

Kasama rin sa movie sina Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, at John Cena.

Wonder Woman 1984

Imbes na sa June 5, sa August 14 na mapapanood ang sequel sa pinakamatagumpay na property ng DC. The movie is directed by Patty Jenkins and features Gal Gadot as the main character, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as The Cheetah, Robin Wright as Antiope, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord, and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta. Set in 1984, the film follows WW as she faces off against Maxwell Lord and Cheetah.

Top Gun: Maverick

Matapos ang mahigit tatlong dekada ay mapapanood na rin ang sequel ng pelikula kung saan naging superstar si Tom Cruise. Pero maghihintay pa ng konti ang mga fans ng aktor dahil mula June 24 ay inilipat ang release nito sa December 23.

Sa Twitter, sinabi ni Tom: “I know many of you have waited 34 years. Unfortunately it will be a little longer. Top Gun: Maverick will fly this December. Stay safe, everyone.”
