TINIYAK ng Philippine Health Insurance Corp., na mayroon itong pondo para bayaran ang gastos sa ospital ng mga nahawa ng coronavirus disease 2019.
Sa online hearing ng Defeat Covid-19 Committee ng Kamara de Representantes kahapon, sinabi ni PhilHealth president Ricardo Morales na may inilaan itong P30 bilyong reserve fund para sa COVID-19 crisis.
Inamin naman ni Morales na mas maliit ang inaasahan nitong kita ngayong taon bago pa man kumalat ang COVID-19 sa bansa.
“We are now experiencing shortfall in our collection, we anticipated this because everybody is cash-strapped. But we hope that before thing becomes very critical we can get over and start to recover,” saad ni Morales. “But before the Covid 19 pandemic, we already projecting a net loss, because we were not given the funding which we asked to support the funding of the UHC [Universal Healthcare Law]. However, for COVID we are confident that we can support the requirement.”
Ang kabuuang asset ng PhilHealth ay P221 bilyon at P70 bilyon umano dito ang maaaring agad na magamit. “On top of that, we have investment and securities that also can be converted to cash and that would be about P124 billion.”
Kamakailan ay naglabas ng case rate para sa COVID-19 ang PhilHealth. Para sa pasyente na may mild pneumonia ang babayaran ng PhilHealth ay hanggang P43,997; sa moderate pneumonia ay P143,267; severe pneumonia ay P333,519; at sa critical pneumonia ay P786,384.
Umapela ang mga kongresista sa PhilHealth na bayaran nito ang lahat ng gastos sa ospital ng mga mahihirap.
