SINABI ng Palasyo na mandatory na ang pagsusuot ng face masks sa lahat ng pampublikong lugar sa harap ng patuloy na pagtaas ng kaso ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Sa isang briefing, sinabi ni Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) spokesperson at Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles na inaprubahan ng task force ang pagsusuot ng face masks sa lahat ng lugar na sakop ng Luzon-wide lockdown.
“For areas placed under ECQ, the IATF hereby adopts the policy of mandatory wearing by all residents of face masks, earloop masks, indigenous, reusable or do-it-yourself masks, face shields, handkerchiefs, or such other protective equipment that can effectively lessen the transmission of COVID-19, whenever allowed to go out of their residences pursuant to existing guidelines issued by the national government,” sabi ni Nograles.
Idinagdag ni Nograles na inaatasan ang lahat ng lokal na pamahalaan na magpasa ng ordinansa para ipatupad ang mandatory face masks.
“LGUs are hereby enjoined to issue the necessary executive order or ordinance to that effect, and impose such penalties as may be appropriate,” ayon pa kay Nograles.
Ito’y matapos na umabot na sa mahigit 2,000 ang kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa.
“Uulitin ko po: kung kailangan po nating lumabas ng bahay, kailangan po mag mask. Kahit improvised ito o panyo, basta po may pangtakip tayo ng bibig at ilong,” ani Nograles.
