HUMINGI ng paumanhin ang Research Institute for Tropical Medicine kay ACT-CIS Rep. Eric Go Yap matapos umanong magkaroon ng clerical error sa resulta ng kanyang coronavirus disease 2019 test.
“We wish to publicly apologize to Cong. Eric Go Yap of ACT-CIS Partylist for forwarding a report of his COVID-19 results that displayed a clerical oversight.”
Paliwanag ng RITM nadiskubre kamakalawa ng gabi ang “encoding error” ng Molecular Biology Laboratory ng Department of Health-RITM.
“His results are by no means a false positive. This isolated incident was brought about by an encoding error.”
Ang nag-encode umano ay isang augmentation staff na labas sa regular workforce ng laboratoryo. “Said employee is already being dealt with administratively.”
Tiniyak ng RITM na ang kanilang testing process ay sumusunod sa protocol ng World Health Organization at nananatili umanong accurate ang resulta nito.
“The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing procedure still stands as the gold standard in detecting the genetic sequence of the SARS-CoV-2—the virus that causes COVID-19,” saad ng RITM. “Again, we profusely and sincerely apologize to Hon. Eric Go Yap for the unnecessary discomfort this incident has caused.”
Upang hindi na maulit ang insidente ay nagdagdag ng isa pang layer ng verification process kaugnay ng mga resulta.
“We promise that this, and other associated incidents, will never happen again.”
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi naman ni Yap na naging mahirap sa kanya at sa mga taong nakapaligid sa kanya ang nakalipas na 48 oras matapos malaman na siya ay positibo sa COVID-19.
“Hindi naging madali ito pero buong puso kong tinatanggap ang apology ng DOH-RITM. No less than Dr. (Celia) Carlos called me up to explain what happened. Naiintindihan ko, they are the busiest medical facility in the country right now. Its not an excuse pero normal na nagkakaroon ng pagkakamali sa dami at sa pressure na tinatanggap ng RITM ngayon,” ani Yap.
Nagpasalamat naman si Yap sa Diyos sa balitang kanyang natanggap.
Sinabi ni Yap na ang kanyang pagiging negatibo ay hindi dahilan para magsaya “dahil ilang milyong kababayan pa din natin ang kasalukuyang apektado ng krisis na ito. I will not harbor hard feelings towards anybody and I urge everybody to stay home and keep safe from this virus.”
Dagdag pa ng solon ang clerical error ay hindi dapat gamitin laban sa RITM dahil “hindi sila nagkamali ng pag-process ng samples ko, hindi sila nagkamali sa basa ng results ko.”
