Napilitang ipagtanggol ni Marcelito Pomoy ang kanyang asawang si Joan matapos itong mabatikos sa social media.

Umepal daw kasi si Joan sa hero’s welcome ni Marcelito sa Calauag, Quezon. Nagbigay kasi ng short speech si Joan sa programa para sa kanyang asawa.

Sa kanyang Facebook account, Marcelito explained why he had his wife give a short talk.

“I believe I need to explain the story behind this. To those who did not watch the whole video, please watch it before you judge my wife. It hurts me most seeing my wife being hurt by your messages.

“It’s me who gave the microphone to my wife in respect to her since she is the native Quezonian. I am the one who transferred in her province since 2011. I spoke first and sang before I call my wife in front to thank all the people of Calauag.
“Please dont bash my wife because I am the one who push her to do this. Even in AGT, we have the deal that if she will not be with me on the stage I will not also perform. That is our deal.
“And about the Ellen Degeneres Show, my wife could have been my interpreter there but she did not accept the offer because she really doesn’t want to be on the limelight. I know my wife very well.
“She is a girl who would want to just be away from the limelight. Even if I have a TV guesting, she would rather give the slot to her sisters or relative or friend to be able to watch me live than to go with me. I just hope you understand my point. I love you all and I hope this is clear already.

“PS: I am in school learning English Language (suggested by my wife) so don’t worry hopefully soon I will be and I can be speaking English very well.”

That was Marcelito’s explanation.

Marcelito’s English-speaking defended the AGT grand finalist.

“Marcelito, I’m so sorry that you have to deal with such hurtful comments from some people. Joan is absolutely wonderful and it touches our heart to see how much you love each other and how she supports you. Please don’t worry about the few negative folks.
“They don’t represent the vast majority of your fans who love and support you and your wonderful family. And great news about the English. It will be great for your nonTagalog speaking fans.”

“To those who have said something earlier I hope it’s very clear to all of you now…if you didn’t have something good to say better keep quiet. You don’t know you’ve hurt someone’s feeling and your accusations are not true. Joan, you didn’t do anything wrong put that in mind.”

“So touching, broke my heart to heard people bashing your supportive wife, don’t mind them. She is your precious gem! Dont waste your time explaining to them. stay as humble as you are.”
