“I watch comedy films. Will Ferrel, standup comedy ni Jokoy, Kevin Hart movies. Mga movies na you don’t have to think but to just laugh-off your ass the whole time. Para pag the next day serious ulit ako, lahat ng tawa ko sa katawan, nailabas ko na,” pahayag ni Arjo.

It’s like an exercise raw for him. He just detach himself lang from the character at tawa lang siya nang tawa. Dahil doon, nakakalimutan daw niya ang karakter niya.

“Then the next day, ‘Paano nga ulit ‘yun?’ And then, I try to get back again. Me, forgetting doesn’t mean I forget about my job. It’s just I’m trying to forget about the, yeah, just detach for a while,” aniya pa.

There was a time raw na halos araw-araw ay nagsu-shoot siya.

“I will shoot na parang four characters in a week. So, I was going crazy. But pagkauwi ko, ang assignment ko, kahit puyat na puyat I’d watch comedy films, if I could, ‘di ba?” he said.

Then, we asked Arjo kung impluwensya ba ni Maine ang pagkahilig niya sa comedy films, “Hindi po. I’ve always been, sabi ko nga isa sa rason kung bakit ako naging artista was Babalu and then Redford White. And I don’t do what I’m doing with my line right now.”

“Well, alam ninyo, I’m a fan of John Lloyd because he moves me. More than wan-ting to be a leading man, you see, I’m a character actor. I’m happy seeing John Lloyd, JM de Guzman, and Jericho Rosales. Three leading men who actually move me so much when they do characters. And I, in terms of Lloydie, I’m a fan of his work,” paliwanag niya.

“And if you’re asking me to fill in that space of Loydie? I can’t. I cannot do that. John Lloyd is John Lloyd. Kahit anong gawin ko, kahit anong gawin kong projects, John Lloyd Cruz is John Lloyd Cruz,” diin pa niya.

Anytime now, ipalalabas na ang huling episodes ng Bagman 2 sa iWant, “I think season 1 mas intense siya in a way because, coming from Bagman 1, what I enjoyed about it we actually started from scratch.

Maging siya rin, “Me, as well, as an actor, I’m going into it, you know. Bagman 1 and Bagman 2, here’s the difference, I tell you. Bagman 1 explains how I became a bagman. How I did not expect that I was already a bagman, not knowing I was a bagman. And then, I gained power, pero utus-utusan lang ako sa Season 1.

“Sa Season 2, the diffe-rence is I’m a bagman with power. So, how you’re gonna deal with it. What’s the diffe-rence with power and without power? So, that’s how I see it. And obviously, the relationship of a bigger scale of corruption.

“That’s how you see it. It’s not all about killing. It’s not all about who’s who? But it showing you the realism, the real, you know, what is really here in the Philippines. How dirty we could get,” pahayag pa ng aktor.
