NADINE LUSTRE AT JAMES REID
ILANG beses nagtangkang mag-quit sa showbiz ang Kapamilya actor-singer-producer na si James Reid dahil sa matinding depresyon.
Ayon sa boyfriend ni Nadine Lustre, grabe ang epekto sa kanya ng pangnenega at pamba-bash ng mga netizens noon, talagang dinadamdam niya ito nang bonggang-bongga.
Sa panayam ng Tonight With Boy Abunda, inamin ni James na hirap na hirap siyang intindihin kung bakit may mga nanglalait at nambabastos sa kanya sa social media kahit ginagawa na niya ang lahat para makapagpasaya ng tao.
“Yeah, many times (inatake ng depresyon). Most of the time was before Nadine and I got together. I can say that was probably the height of my depression,” pahayag ni James.
Sa tanong kung gaano siya kaseryoso na iwan ang showbiz noon, “Serious enough for me to I wanna just drop everything, yup, like, saying goodbye to everything.
“I was still so affected by what fans said. At that time, I was still so affected by what people were telling me how to be me, people telling me what to do with my life,” paliwanag pa ng aktor.
Dito rin siya nag-decide na magbakasyon ng ilang araw sa Japan para magmuni-muni at i-assess ang mga nangyayari sa kanyang buhay, “At that time, I took a trip to Japan by myself.Just alone.
“I wanted to get away from the country, away from the fans and bashers alike,” aniya pa.
Kung matatandaan din, grabe ang inabot na pangnenega ni James mula sa fans nila ni Nadine nang dahil sa umano’y pambababae niya. Na-bash din siya noon dahil palagi raw siyang nasa gimikan at pumaparty-party nang hindi kasama si Nadine.
Pagpapatuloy ni James, noong bumalik na siya sa Pilipinas galing Japan, mas naging solid at mas lumalim pa ang relasyon nila ni Nadine.
“With her, I didn’t have to pretend. I could just be myself completely, like, pick my nose in front of her, everything.
“In the end, she became the only one I wanted to please. And she definitely helped me through the darkest time of my life, and I’ve been there for her, through hers. I’m more open now, so none of that stuff gets me anymore. So I’m in, yeah, probably in the best of my life,” ani James.
Dahil na rin sa pagmamahal at paggabay ni Nadine, mas minahal pa niya ang showbiz, “No one understood me the way that she did. And I couldn’t talk to anyone else about my problems. Being able to share it with someone because, like, I would just battle it all up and tried to forget it, but it doesn’t work that way. Like, pain shared is half the pain.”
Sa ngayon ay masaya pa ring nagsasama sa isang bubong ang magdyowa. Kung kailan sila magpapakasal, tanging sila lang ang nakakaalam.

Samantala, sa isang bahagi ng panayam, payag si James na makatrabaho sina Yassi Pressman, Liza Soberano, Janella Salvador at Kathryn Bernardo.
Aniya kay Yassi, “She’s been a friend of mine since I went to Viva, ‘Diary ng Panget’ was my first big movie with Nadine and was also with Yassi and Andre (Paras) and she’s been a good friend of mine.”
Game rin siyang maka-collaborate sa music si Janella, “If we did work together hopefully it’s music, something like that.”
Na-excite rin siya sa posibilidad na magsama-sama sila sa isang project ng LizQuen, “The three of us? That’d be awesome. Quen’s (Enrique) been a close of friend of mine since I got out of Pinoy Big Brother.”
Pero pagdating kay Julia Barretto pass muna si James, “There’s too much noise when it comes to fans and stuff. I have no problem with her at all it’s just too much noise. Let’s make life easy.”
Payag naman si James na makatrabaho ni Nadine sina Joshua Garcia at Arjo Atayde, “I would say yes just because he’s an amazing actor. I love Arjo.”
Okay lang ba sa kanya na makatambal ng girlfriend niya si Coco Martin? “I just can’t see them in a project together. Actually no, if it was an action project then Games Reid.
“Nadine’s always wanted to do like an action star. So alongside Coco, that would be cool,” dagdag pa ni James.
