“We will draft a substitute bill, which will be subject to style and amendments, [and] be brought to the Committee for approval, for the Committee report,” an Ferrer.
“Considering that the consensus is for the postponement of the elections, and considering further that the Comelec has categorically stated that they would be having more ample time to prepare if the postponement would cover at least one year from the date of the national election, I most respectfully move that we approve the bills postponing the elections and the subsequent elections of the Barangay officials as well as the SK be held on the second Monday of May, 2023,” ani Barzaga.
“Unwittingly, the elected barangay and SK officials in 2018 are now constrained to serve for only a two-year term in stark contrast to the mandate of the Local Government Code and to the detriment of project and program implementation that would benefit the Filipino people,” ani Velasco.
