MULING kinuha bilang Taiwan ambassador ang kilalang vlogger na si Mikey Bustos para sa tourism campaign na “Undiscovered Taipei”.

Ayon kay Mr. Yi-ting Liu, commissioner ng Department of Information and Tourism sa Taipei, malaki ang naitulong ni Mikey sa pagdagsa ng Filipino tourists sa bansa nila.

“We still chose Mikey Bustos because last year he is our ambassador, he is our spokesperson and the performance of his job is very great and very outstanding and also a lot of Filipino tourists came and his influence is very big.

“So this year, we think of him again to come over again and again in Taipei. And we think that his style (promoting Taipei) ay magugustuhan ng mga Filipino,” pahayag ni Mr. Yi-ting Liu sa pamamagitan ng interpreter.

Visa-free ang Taiwan kaya isa ito sa dahilan kung bakit lumobo ang turista nila noong 2018 kaya sa ginanap na mediacon ng “Undiscovered Taipei” ay natanong si Yi-ting Liu kung extended ba ang programang ito.

“As of now, they’re (Taiwan government) still discussing the visa-free but there’s no immediate answer yet, of course we want to invite everyone to come to Taiwan because we want to increase the Philippine tourists,” paliwanag nito.

Sa pagkakatanda namin noong i-launch ang “My New Crushie” campaign ni Mikey last year ay nabanggit na hanggang ngayong Hulyo, 2019 na lang ang visa-free ng Taiwan kaya inaalam kung muli itong ie-extend para sa mga hindi pa nakakapunta roon.

Ia-announce raw ng Taipei Economic and Cultural Office kung muli itong ma-extend o hindi na.

Samantala, masaya ring ibinalita na ang Taipei, Taiwan ang unang bansa sa Asya na legal na ang same sex marriage. Kaya naman natanong si Mikey kung may plano sila ng partner niyang si RJ Cruz na i-level up ang kanilang relasyon.

“Who knows, maybe sometime in the future but going to Taiwan with my partner was actually really need because it’s our first vacation out of the country as couple. That was other level to travel for both of us. Follow the Mikey Bustos blog for the plans in another level,” say nito.

Kamakailan lang nag-out si Mikey bilang miyembro ng LGBTQ kaya natanong siya kung anong mga romantic na lugar ang pwedeng pasyalan sa Taipei.

“Well, if you’re proud of LGBTQ like me, you can go to Ximending, where they have places there you can hang out. Great places to take photos, in front of Taipei 101 and a lot more,” sagot niya.

At ang sarap daw ng pakiramdam ngayon ni Mikey dahil, “We feel free and proud.”

Ano naman ang payo niya sa mga miyembro ng LGBTQ na natatakot pa ring ilantad ang tunay nilang pagkatao? “Well my advice, first of all, there’s no schedule. The universe appear the right moment for you to say, I Am who I Am!

“It’s a mutual decision for me and my partner, we’ve been dating for almost seven years now, so it was just time. I’m almost 38 (years old) and, I’ve really want to be authentic to deliver that message,” saad pa ng Taipei ambassador.

Anyway, nagpapasalamat ang binata dahil muli siyang kinuha bilang ambassador ng Taipei, “This is my second year as ambassador of Taipei and truly honored and grateful for this and to be able to visit Taipei.

“The first time for vacation. Last December (2018), I was invited for Filipino day to perform and the two visits was for promoting,” sabi pa ng sikat na vlogger.

Paboritong lugar ni Mikey sa Taipei ay ang, “That area that has hot springs, it really great. I also vlog the hot springs really amazing, it’s good for the skin, that was a new for me and food is excellent in Taipei and my favorite is anything with beef, stinky tofu, dried beef noodles is really good.”
