TUTULAK na ang 1st Ahedres Pilipinas Chess Team Tournament sa Linggo, Mayo 12, sa Dapitan Sports Complex, Sampaloc, Manila.
Ito ang inanunsyo nina National Master Marc Christian Nazario at Christian Anthony Flores sa Usapang Sports na inorganisa ng Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) Huwebes ng umaga sa National Press Club, Intramuros, Maynila.
“Each team must have an average rating of 2100 and only one master is allowed to play for each team,” sabi ni Nazario, na itinatag ang Ahedres Pilipinas kasama sina Flores at Woman National Master Christy Lamiel Bernales.
“Unrated participants will automatically be rated 1650,” dagdag ni Flores na umaasang aabot sa 60-70 koponan ang lalahok sa seven-round Swiss system format tournament na ito.
Ang team champion ay mag-uuwi ng P30,000 habang ang second at third placer ay mananalo ng P20,000 at P12,000.
May category prizes din na P2,500 para sa Top High School Team, Top College Team, Top Women’s Team, Top Manila, Top Company and Top Government Team.
Registration fee ay P2,500 per team.
Dumalo rin sa weekly sports forum na suportado ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), National Press Club (NPC), Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) at HG Guyabano Tea Leaf Drink sina Philippine Karatedo Federation president Gretchen Malalad, karate coach Reiner de Leon, Community Basketball Association (CBA) operations director Robert de la Rosa at ang magkapatid na motocross rider na sina Pia at Ompong Gabriel.
