ISINARA ng University of the Philippines-Diliman ang emergency room ng University Health Service nito dahil sa posibleng kaso ng meningococcemia.
Sa inilabas na Health Advisory ng UHS na pirmado ng acting director na si Jesusa Catabui MD, sinabi nito na ang VLP Room 3 ang pansamantalang gagamiting emergency room.
Ang emergency room naman sasailalim sa 48 oras na UV light disinfection.
“… the apparent signs of septic shock and the rapid deterioration of the patient may lead us to consider the possibility of meningococcemia,” saad ng advisory.
Ipinaalam na umano nila ang pangyayari sa Quezon City Health Office at pinayagan sila na palabasin ang labi ng pasyente.
Ang mga staff ng ospital na umasikaso sa pasyente ay binigyan ng prophylactic medication.
“Meanwhile, we would like to inform the general public that it is safe to consult at the University Health Service and we are resuming our ER operations at its former location effective tomorrow, March 23).
Ang meningococcemia ay isang sakit na nakamamatay at maaaring makahawa.
